Wellington is a great place to live. As well as being the home of the New Zealand Government, Wellington is also renowned for its distinctive cultural scene, encompassing fine cuisine, art, music, and a world renowned filmmaking industry. Wellington has all the benefits of other major international cities but its compact nature means its social and business communities are well connected, it is convenient and easy to navigate, and is safe and friendly.
Mercer’s 2011 International Quality of Living Survey ranked Wellington the 13th best city for quality of life and the 9th safest city in the world to live. Wellington is also an easy place to get around with an efficient and safe public transport system. In the city however, many people choose to walk or bike to school or work.
