Each year we celebrate the arrival of international students in Wellington with a fun morning of activities aimed at introducing you to the local culture and starting your academic year on an exciting note.
Join us on the 16th of March 2016 at Pipitea Marae if you’re a high school or tertiary student new to the Wellington region. This is a great chance to make new friends and to experience traditional and contemporary Kiwi celebrations.
It’s a totally free event which includes a sausage sizzle (inc. vegetarian options), photobooths and the chance to win some awesome prizes!
Our friends from Immigration NZ, i-SITE and the Citizens Advice Bureau will be on hand to help you make the most out of your time in Wellington. Mayor Celia Wade-Brown will be in attendance to wish you a warm welcome on behalf of the city.
School students, talk to your teachers about transport options to and from the event. Pipitea Marae is located right by the Wellington central train station and numerous bus stops. The event takes place at 10:00 am to 11:30 am. For help planning your transport, check out metlink.org.nz.
